The ShowerZone

The 2013 Absa Cape Epic will have a totally refreshed shower experience.

After a tough day in the saddle, there’s nothing quite as enjoyable as getting out of filthy kit and taking a shower.

This year, Hansgrohe will again be supplying the soothing jets of water from our water efficient EcoSmart showerheads as well as providing and maintaining a complete ShowerZone with changing booths, mirrors, relaxing music and even the chance to win in out Dirtiest Rider Competition.

The only way the experience would be better was if beer came out the tap.

Thanks to Hansgrohe, you’ll be able to shed a tear of joy when the water comes out the showerhead. Fitted with efficient Hansgrohe Croma 1Jet shower heads, you’ll enjoy the soothing caresses of water droplets that aren’t only luxurious; they’re far friendlier to the environment.

Our Hansgrohe shower heads are designed with EcoSmart technology so they use half as much water without compromising on the feel of the water coming out the tap.

And what about a place to get changed that’s just as peaceful?

In the past, riders needed to get undressed, shower and change into fresh clothes in the confines of a tight shower cubicle (or run around naked for a bit in the shower tent.) No more.

For the 2013 Absa Cape Epic, we’ll be adding a small piece of heaven to everyone’s daily world of pain: your own pod to change in, in peace.

Obviously, because the Absa Cape Epic is a travelling village, we’ll have to set up and dismantle all the shower pods as we move from town to town across the Western Cape.

But the guys at sustainable agency, Derrick, have developed an ingenious modular system that sets up and dismantles easily, and looks and works great.

As you can imagine the constraints of having to make the inside of a bare marquee look great can be challenging. But we think the solution is a winner. Or, at least, a close second to the superb Hansgrohe EcoSmart shower heads and mixers.
