Up till about 6 months ago I had never heard of Meerendal wine farm. I’d spent many glorious weekend afternoons bouncing and railing around Contermanskloof but had never even considered crossing the street and heading on over to Meerendal. I’ve been missing out.

In Hermanus they’re saving gallons of water. But why stop there?
Hermanus is a great place to train. The scenery is magical, some of the climbs get the heart rate hitting the limiter, and it’s also a great place to spot the very real shift to energy efficiency in people.
Perhaps their motives are to save money (for example, investing in a Solar Water Heater will typically save you 25% on your electricity bill). Even if that’s the primary reason, the by-product makes such good environmental sense, it’s great to see.
Where Team Hansgrohe is staying, the owners have started making the switch. Low-flow showerheads and energy-saving mixers in the kitchen. It’s great that they’re all from Hansgrohe, the only company to offer EcoSmart technology in their products.
